Rannarahva Muuseum

The Coastal People Museum Foundation acts as a memory institution for coastal people, collecting and exhibiting in its museums things related to the cultural and historical heritage of coastal people.

We want to be a meeting place for coastal people, a competence center and, if necessary, a spokesperson. Every day, we contribute to the survival of coastal people’s culture and to infecting children and adults with sea germs.

The foundation consists of 3 special museums, which, complementing each other, provide a broader picture of the life of coastal people in Estonia:

Mission
We enable us to understand and think about the essence of the seaside lifestyle, interpret the past, feel the present and create a better future.

Vision for 2025
SA Rannarahva Muuseum is an internationally renowned genuine and diverse center for coastal people’s lifestyles.
The museum reflects the lifestyle of coastal people in a knowledge-based, engaging and environmentally friendly way. The museum is a well-known partner in international maritime culture circles and recognized throughout Estonia as a unique showcase of the seaside lifestyle. The museum is both an educational and an enjoyable environment for various target groups.
