Night of Ancient Lights at the Viimsi Open-Air Museum

28.August 2026

The Viimsi Open-Air Museum invites you to the Night of Ancient Lights on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The ensemble Runö will perform.

Authentic traditional music from Ruhnu will be performed at the Viimsi Open-Air Museum by the sea—along with stories about a culture whose continuity was severed by the great exodus of 1944.
The RUNÖ concert takes the listener on a journey through life on Ruhnu—from weddings and celebrations to the church and the beach, and from everyday life to the solitude of the sea. The concert features Ruhnu-Swedish violin tunes, songs, and stories that recount the life, faith, joys, and hardships of this small island community.
Come join us to bid farewell to August—to listen, sing along, and even dance to the tunes of Ruhnu’s fiddlers. Feel free to bring a picnic basket if you’d like. The museum café will be open, and in keeping with the Night of Ancient Lights, we’ll light a bonfire in the evening.
